Heating Oil
The most common form of heating oil is kerosene, or 28-second oil. This oil burns efficiently and is very clean. Some systems may run on gas oil – particularly agricultural and commercial systems. A small number of homes may also use gas oil too.
Maintaining Your System
Keep an eye on your home heating system, and check it is running efficiently. Regularly checking it can save a lot of trouble in the long term. We recommend you also check your oil tank level once a week, so you can order before you risk running out. This is especially important in winter months.
If you prefer, we can fit the an automatic monitoring system. The system monitors your fuel level and notifies us when your fuel tank gets low. We will automatically reorder for you, so you don’t have to worry.

- What fuel type is used in your home heating system?
- What is the capacity of your tank?
- How old is the boiler, and what type? Does it need any maintenance?
- When was the boiler last serviced, and is it due for another?
- Did a registered engineer service the boiler?
